Sensitive Thugs, You All Need Hugs: Signs You’re A Softie At Heart

A step by step guide of identifying whether or not someone is in their feelings.

One of the most timeless poets of our time, Sean Carter, once echoed these words in a song entitled Heart of the City (Ain’t No Love) off his classic album the Blueprint. The words, meant to be a stab at rappers and critics alike who felt offended by his words and lifestyle, serves as the perfect backdrop for our discussion today. If you, like many of the people above, find yourself at least two to three times a week harboring hatred for others who have seemingly do nothing to you, then you my friend might be a little be more sensitive than you put on. Here are three surefire indications that the person in question is mad in touch with their feelings.

Sign #1: Your Social Media Posts Are Mad Passive Aggressive

We either know someone who does it frequently or been guilty of it ourselves. You know the posts from friends affirming their loyalty to being savage and uncaring followed directly by posts advocating tender love and affection! If you or someone you know has been guilty of such offenses, it is time for you to own up to your behavior. The callous and at times aggressive tempo of our society has caused us to believe that it serves us better to prove how tough we are, so much so that it has convinced many people who love us that we do not require love. Stop it I say! You can’t be telling us how trill you are in one post, then liking all the pics under the black love category of couples rubbing their mates head. We Don’t Believe You!

Sign #2: Your Emojis are Less than G

If the person in question uses emojis copiously at the end of a post about a criminal endeavor there is a more than 100% chance that beneath their Future exterior lies some Hendrix feelings (The album is fire by the way!!!). No amount of 100 emojis and gun emojis can replace the smiley face, heart, and laugh emojis emanating from your keyboard. I don’t know if I’ll ever see an emoji-filled rant from a hardened criminal whose supposed to be without well emotions. But then again you probably wouldn’t see them posting anything on social media at all. Just my thoughts!

Sign 3: Your Meme Game is Game

The one friend whose Instagram is littered with nothing but memes quoting dated and heavily generalized platitudes from people they hardly know is a symptom of this condition. If you claim to be a thug but like all the meme from social media therapists eager to exploit your bitterness.. then yeah you’re pretty sensitive at heart. It’s cool. Just don’t dwell there. It’s ok sensitive thugs. We are here to greet you with hugs, not slugs.
