To understand my mindset, you first have to understand where I came from and what I saw. To put it simple, I was raised to be a lamb by my mother. She instilled in me the mentality needed to be docile, accommodating, and non threatening. The only issue with that was that I was living in a jungle with lions, wolves, and foxes. Shoot if you weren’t careful and turned your back the hyenas could kill you. The lions are the players who take what they want and hunt for their kill. They prefer to move solo and are ruthless in their pursuit. The wolves stalk their prey and move in packs, looking for the best chance to strike. The fox is sly, not the strongest, but calm and cerebral. The hyena is at the bottom of the totem pole, but like any scavenger can still find a way to eat. Their laugh and penchant for preying on weaker and smaller prey describes why they are not loved.
I was unaware of just how vulnerable I was as a kid and so I wandered through the jungle, avoiding confrontations with the animals in the animal kingdom, all the while hoping that a lioness would see a young lamb and mistake it for a cub. The funny thing is when my back was pressed against the wall, I would lash out like the panther or even the silverback, attacking my prey in self defense. The confrontations were too far and few however to solidify my stance and so I continued to be a lamb towards the animals around me.
When it came to my dealings with the opposite sex , I soon learned that the best offense was not defense though. I had to be smart and strong, not shy and docile to get what I wanted not what was left over. Over time, I learned how to be a fox amongst the wolves and lions using my brain and mouth piece to maneuver around. But as any player in the game learns, the only way to survive in the jungle is to eventually become a lion.
